Small scale harvesting of fresh herbs is a wonderful way to ensure that plants are ethically gathered at their prime.
Here at Little Homestead in the Valley I love doing just that.
There isn't much that gives me more pleasure then walking barefoot through the garden with a basket over an arm, picking the fresh blooms, wild harvesting St. John's Wort for tea or pulling out a bunch of fresh carrots from the earth.
The harvesting of herbs at their prime ensures that the oils and their many health benefits are available, to be immediately processed. Be it a tincture, drying or infusing into oil for making herbal salves and remedies.
A recent favourite thing is to pop it all straight into the freeze dryer, locking in the benefits. These are all collected in small batches, making our supply, niche and limited, with the highest possible quality.
We hope you enjoy the benefits of these freshly made products as much as we do.
